Early Years and Screens Session
I’m sure you are aware of increasing coverage in the press about young children’s use of screens. We have arranged an information session on Thursday 7th February at 09.15am in the Blue House for parents to help you sort the facts from the scare stories.
What is clear is that there are downsides, but what is also clear is that they are not universal downsides for all children. While 1 hours use of a games console might be okay for one child, it might be far too much for another.
This session will:
- Look at the risks, particularly for under 5’s;
- Identify things to be looking out for in your child, and
- Aim to give you the benefits, alongside the downsides.
There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
Trefor Lloyd works in schools, mainly with 3-5 year-olds and their families, and has looked at the research, especially for 0-5’s. He won’t be making anyone feel guilty, simply highlighting information that might be important for you to know.
To book a place please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and “Early Years and Screens” as the subject or speak to a member of staff in the school office.
We really hope you can make it!
