Walk to School Week and Family Walk
Join thousands of children across the country celebrating the benefits that walking brings. We know that walking to school makes children feel healthier and happier, while reducing congestion and pollution outside the school gates. Yet less than half of primary school children currently walk to school. We want to reverse this decline and see every child that can, walk to school.
So why not join us from Monday 15th to Friday 19th May. We’re asking every child to walk to school or get off the bus one stop further away. If you really have to drive, we’d like you to park further from school not only building some walking into your day, but also easing congestion and avoiding polluting the air around school.
To conclude Walk to School Week the PTA are organising a Family Walk on Friday 19th May after school. Simply meet in the playground after school and everyone will be walking up to Hilly Fields together. Why not bring along some simple games equipment or a picnic to enjoy some fun in the park.
This is a family event so ALL children must be accompanied by an adult.
