Dear Parent/Carer,

Our topic this term is “If you go down to the woods today” . To support our learning about living things and their habitats, Year 3 will be visiting the Ecology Park at Greenwich Peninsula on; Monday 8th September (Miss Morgan’s class); Tuesday 9th September (Miss Rolland’s class); and Monday 15th September (Ms O’Brien’s class).

We will be travelling on London Transport and will be leaving school at 9.15am sharp. We should be back in school by 3.30pm, although this will depend on the trains! We will ring school if we are going to be late.

The cost of the trip is £3.00. Please return your contribution in a named envelope to your class. Please remember that if your child is entitled to Pupil Premium, your contribution has been covered by the funding we receive. You can check entitlement with your class teacher or the office

A large proportion of the time on this trip will be spent outdoors and children should dress appropriately. A warm coat and sensible shoes should be worn (old trainers, boots or wellies).

Your child will need a packed lunch in a bag which can be carried ‘hands free’. If your child is entitled to a free school meal, they will automatically be given a school packed lunch so they just need to bring a bag to carry it in.

If you would like to order a school packed lunch at the cost of £1.90, please let the School Office know by Wednesday 3rd September.

We will require the help of a few parents, who are available to come on the trip and are willing to take responsibility for a small group of children. Please approach your child’s class teacher directly, by Wednesday at the latest if you can help (places are limited). You will also need to complete a List 99 check at the school office. Please be aware that any existing List 99 checks are no longer valid.

Yours,

M Rolland                L Morgan            C O’Brien
