Dear Parent/Carer,

On Thursday 13th November, as part of our Long Long Ago topic, Year 4 will be visiting Butser Ancient Farm in Hampshire. The farm is an exact replica of an Iron Age settlement and we will spend the day undertaking Iron Age activities (carving, wattling, spinning etc).

Please ensure your child is in school at 7.45am – the coach will be leaving at 8am sharp. We will be back at school at approximately 5pm. If you do not want your child to attend this trip because of the late return, please let us know in advance.

It is essential your child wears old, VERY warm clothes and a waterproof jacket. All of the activities are outdoors and the farm recommend tracksuit bottoms or pyjamas under trousers, two pairs of socks, hats, gloves, scarves and warm footwear.

Your child will require a packed lunch. If your child recieves free school meals the school will provide a packed lunch.

To meet the cost of the trip we will be asking for a voluntary contribution of £10.00 per child. The cost has been significantly reduced thanks to a contribution by the school’s PTA. If your child is entitled to the Pupil Premium, the cost of this trip is covered by the funding we receive.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.

Regards

Year 4 Team.
