Year 3: PSHE Meeting (Parents Only)

May 17, 2018 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last year we revised our Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) so that we are in line with current guidelines and best practice.

This means that there is now an element of Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) taught in each year group in an age appropriate way. This year, Year 3 learning will cover:

  • Learn about the differences between males and females and name the body parts;
  • Learning about touch and knowing that a person has the right to say what they like and dislike;
  • To learn about differences and diversity in families and who you can go to for help and support.

Each lesson will start with a discussion about the ground rules – this will involve listening, not talking over others, not laughing, taking turns and teamwork and children will go on to explore the above concepts with the class.

If you would like any more information about this before it is taught, we will be holding an informal meeting for Parents /Carers on Thursday 17th May at 5pm.  I will be available together with a Year 3 teacher to discuss the content of the lessons and the resources we use.

Please could you confirm your attendance by emailing:

Kind regards

Ruth Fenton
