Information for Families: 5.11.21

I hope you were all able to enjoy a good half-term and that your children have been excited about their first week back.

Parents meetings
I hope you have all found the new booking system straightforward. If you have not yet booked your appointment, please do so here:

The booking closes at 8pm today. After this time, you will not be able to make appointments online, but can phone the school office on 020 8691 0611 and ask for Pauline or email us at: – we will be happy to help you make an appointment.

On the day of the meeting
In order to manage these appointments efficiently for everyone, please ensure you join at least 5 minutes before your virtual meeting on the day. You will be held in a waiting room until your time, when you will be entered into the meeting. Each meeting will be a maximum of eight minutes, after which time the system will automatically close the meeting. If you are late to the meeting, please note that the system will allocate whatever time is remaining of your 8 minutes. More details on how to book and what to do on the day of your appointment, can be found here:

Book Club
Thank you to everyone who ordered through our first Scholastic Book Club. This is a great way for Myatt Garden to earn money that we can spend on books when you shop for books at home. There are a great range of titles to look out for and ordering online is simple. You can select home delivery or delivery to school and we earn 20% back from your orders. This helps us improve our book libraries in class and keep up to date with the latest releases and interests of our pupils.

We have set up another Book Club to help you with your Christmas Shopping! Orders must be in by the 15th of December. Below is a link to the Myatt Garden Primary School Book Club, click on there to go straight to our page and browse from the titles on offer:

Next week, your child will receive a leaflet with details of some of their best sellers and best offers, including new titles from Julia Donaldson and Liz Pichon, perfect stocking fillers! Thank you again for your support.

RAFT Assembly
Last year our Year 3 children worked with RAFT in a series of workshops to understand our building and look at how we could reduce our carbon retrofit. Next Friday 12th November, these children (current Year 4) will be taking part in a live streaming assembly with RAFT and other local schools. We would like to invite you to attend remotely if you would like. In order to attend, please follow the link below to book your free ticket. This needs to be done in advance.

The assembly will be an opportunity for the children, alongside other schools, to teach the wider school, and local, community about retrofit, as well as the work RAFT have been doing with Myatt Garden over the last year.

Flu Vaccines
Today the school nurses have been administering flu vaccines to everyone that requested one. If you failed to respond, but would like your child to be vaccinated there are clinics running every Saturday – please see information here: Flu Catch Up Clinic Poster

We celebrated Diwali in assembly this week. We’d like to use this opportunity to wish all of our families a Happy Diwali.
