Lewisham School Street Programme
I am delighted that Lewisham have confirmed their plans to activate our School Street from Monday 19th April, the day we return to school after the Easter holidays. This will operate between 8.30 – 9.45am and 2.45 – 4.00pm.
Cameras have been installed at the entrance of Upper Brockley and Rokeby Road to enforce the closure. Once the ANPR cameras go live, anyone that is not exempt and is entering the School Street during the closure time, will be liable to either a warning letter or a fine.
Residents with a car will be able to register their vehicles and therefore be exempt if they live on either road or are blue badge owners. This means that their vehicle registration number will be added to a database and they won’t receive a fine for entering the School Street.
We don’t want any of our school community getting caught out, so we will be sending lots of reminders.
This is a huge step forward in safer journeys to school, easing congestion and cleaner air!
