Climate justice through art

Art specialist teacher Karen will be printing on old T-shirts and fleeces at the school fair to promote environmental and climate justice messages. Using printing block techniques Karen will be sharing skills and communicating climate change messages believing art is a tool of being communities together, fighting for climate justice and sharing love.

Would you like to play some drums?

Lily May (Mother of Eva Year 4 and Elias Year 1) will be running two Brazilian rhythm and drumming workshops tomorrow culminating in a performance at the end of the fair.

The immersive musical experience will explore instruments, rhythms and playing techniques from northeast Brazil (no previous experience necessary).

Come along early if you like to take part in the workshops from 12.20-12.40 and 12.50-13.10 in the Well area under the year 4 staircase. There are only 30 places for each workshop, so get there early to avoid disappointment. You will then take to the Mestival stage for a performance from 2.35 to 2.50pm.

Volunteers to help on the day (email: if you can help);

This year we are trialling the use of prepaid wristbands at the fair. You can buy bands for £2.50 (5 x 50p) at the wristband stall using iZettle for card payments. The children can then wander around without the worry of losing their money.

It looks like it’s going to be a scorcher so don’t forget to bring your hats, sunblock and water bottles
