Please take a look at the wonderful art work that has been taking place in Myatt this year.
We are passionate about engaging children’s learning through the arts and encouraging self expression and confidence. Every year each class has an opportunity to work on a range of creative projects, community art events, visiting galleries, working with Outreach Artists and taking part in inspiring art lessons.
Throughout the children’s journey at Myatt Garden, they will have the opportunity to gain their Arts Awards Discover and Explore certification.
Take One Picture 2020
For Take One Picture week we have been exploring so many different aspects of this year’s nominated painting from The National Gallery.
Across the school we have been drawing, painting, printing, doing batik, modelling and embossing. Every where you look, there have been huddles of children getting creative! Children have been inspired by the fruit, flowers, patterns, horses, perspective and battle. It’s been amazing.
Year 1 drew Kandinsky inspired concentric circles with pastels. What beautiful work, well done Year 1!
Frida Kahlo Exhibition
Wow! What a truly wonderful Frida Kahlo exhibition we had on Friday!
The work looked wonderful, so vibrant and exciting. The private view was well received and very positive comments were made about the amazing art works.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to all children that contributed their art work, to families who supported this project and to Ms Corker for her time and energy spent organising this exciting and stimulating project. I feel very proud of the creativity, participation and enthusiasm shown from our initial assembly introducing Frida Kahlo to the final show.
Having been inspired by Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore, Year 4 produced some wonderful work.
